Lindsey Matheis of Northwest Dance Project performs Pedro Dias's 'Through the Mouth of Your Eyes'

My work with live dance has stemmed from the fact that I wasn't the only photographer in the house and that the act of performance wasn't ever as interesting to me as a dancer. My interest in dance lives now with the choreographers and the stories that they try to tell, within the choices that dancers have to make, and seeing where I fit in as photographer attempting to relay that story. Shooting competitively meant creating different moments from different angles that ultimately told different stories from those of my fellow photographers.
